I opened my blog thinking that I had things to share with you all, but alas, here I sit and I don't know what I was going to say.  I am sitting in my room, listening to music and editing some photos that I took today on my NEW CAMERA!!  I am ABSOLUTELY in love with it and I still have so much to learn about it.  I feel like I need to take an entire day and actually read the manual, but I will most likely just pretend I know what I am doing and take it out anyway haha. 
Lots of exciting/ sad things happening in the next month.  My program is about a month away from being over.  How crazy is that?!  I am excited with what is to come after my program is over.  I am moving into an apartment with my roommate and I am going part time at Downtown Disney.  One of my best friends from the first part of my program is coming back to do a second program and I am super excited about that.  On the sad side, people from this part of the program are going to leave.  Unfortunately, that is the nature of the program, as one group leaves a new group comes in. 
But formal is on Monday so I am super excited about that and service celebrations are happening again. 
Well as it seems, I had more to say that I thought I did.  I am pretty impressed with myself.  I hope this find you all well. And I am gonna write or vlog after formal!! 

Good Morning Everyone.

I was going to make a video on my day off the other day, but it just didn't happen.  I have some exciting news to share!  There have been lots of very exciting things happening lately.
Exciting thing number one- I am now trained to work at Downtown Disney.  This happened a few months ago and I love it! I work in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  So I get to take pictures of the little princesses getting their transformation.  Then I also work in the studio, taking pictures of the princesses after they get their make overs. I really really like it over there. 
Exciting thing number 2- I won best Halloween photo at Downtown Disney.  I unfortunately don't have a copy of the photo but it i pretty rad!  It is of two girls in their Harry Potter robes having a wand fight.  My brother would be so proud.
Exciting thing number 3- I am going part time at Downtown Disney once my program is over!!! Yayy I have a job once my program is over. 
Hmmm I feel like I had more to tell you all.  I really hope people still read this.  I know that I barely update it anymore.  I am going to try and do better through the holiday season because a lot of really great things are happening because of the holidays.

CP FORMAL!

Well, I told you all that I would not be good at this.  I might have been better, but things have been crazy here lately.
I worked my very first Extra Magic Hours last week.  For those of you who don't know what those are, they are extra hours the parks are open for the guests who are staying at the hotels on property.  Our Extra Magic Hours mean we are open until midnight.  The hours switched to different days for the 2 weeks that lead up to Easter.  So I am totally okay not working them again.  But really, I lucked out because if I worked at Magic Kingdom like my roommates their Extra Magic Hours go till 3am.  So.... WINNING!  hahaha
Tonight is our CP Formal.  I am sooo excited!  We have an excuse to get all dressed up and go out and dance the night away.  The theme is villains and I am quite excited that the villains are gonna be there.  Tonight should be a great night. 
On Wednesday we are having a CP fun day with the group of CP's from Epcot Photopass.  I am not sure what we are doing, but I have heard a backstage tour of Soarin', which would be awesome!
Well I am slowing started to get ready for formal.  I just painted my nails and I need to do laundry before tonight.

rain, rain, go away

I am sitting here on my couch as I write this, and it is raining outside.  I feel like I have wasted a whole day because of this rain.  What does one do when it is raining outside and they are in no way shape or form prepared for the rain? You stay in and watch movies all day.  It is quite relaxing, but at the same time, I feel like I need to do something.  I would love a hot coffee or some delicious thai chicken noodle soup. MMMM that sounds so good.  Mom, if you are reading this, please make me some and send it out here!!!!  It has been made quite clear that I need to go buy some rain gear or even more importantly, rain boots.

Things here have been going wonderful, with the exception for the rain that has been happening all week.  I still love my job and everything about life here. Nothing too new to report.  I know I am horrible at this. I hope people are still reading this and finding it enjoyable.

It's a beautiful day...

and I am currently sitting by the pool writing this.  I normally don't do this, but the internet is out in our building and we have free wifi by the pool, therefore, I am sitting here and enjoying the beautiful day.  Nothing really new to report, just having a blast out here.  I know I am awful at writing on this thing but I really try.  I did make a video the other day, but it didn't turn out well.  I am thinking of doing an apartment tour maybe later today so you all can finally see where I live.  All my roommates work late tonight, so I will have a quite apartment.  I think its a pop popcorn kinda night and watch movies.  Sounds like a great night to me. 

Maybe one of these days I will finish my 30 day Disney Challenge that I just realized I never finished.  Oops. :)

Hello World.

Yesterday was a great day. Yesterday was my first day working in Character Spot.  I was totally scared/intimidated at first.  I didn't know what to expect.  All I knew was that everyone who gets placed there is not too excited about it.  So, it was my first day working with characters after character training and who did they put me with? Mickey Mouse.  Of course, now I was really intimidated.  Let me tell you, it was a blast.  I was there for 2 hours, it felt like I was there for maybe an hour.  Then I went to go work in the view center.  This is a place where guests can come and look at the photos we have taken and if they wish to purchase them, we will print the photos for them. I was there for another 2 hours and that time flew by too. After my last break, I got placed back in Character Spot for my last 2 hours.  This time I was working with Donald.  Donald was great to work with.  He is so fun to take pictures of.  By the end of the last set, I was more exhausted that I have been thus far, but at the same time, it felt like I had just arrived at work not too long ago. 

I think I am going to be in Character spot again tonight, which I do not mind.  I actually like it there.  I hope everyone is doing well.  Lots of family next week!! Yayyy visitors!!!! 

Like a boss

Today was AMAZING!!!
I honestly cannot believe how fast today went.  Today was character training day.  We had training at Epcot.  Our first part of the day was we sat in a classroom and went over the basics of characters.  Then we went to Canada to take pictures with some characters in training.  So, the character I claimed was MICKEY MOUSE!!  Yes, you read that right, the first character I got to take pictures of was Mickey.  It was amazing.  After that we had lunch at the diner, then we went to Mexico to work with Donald dressed in a sombrero.   Once we were done in Mexico we went to China to take pictures with Mulan. 
Fur Characters are so much different than face characters.  Fur characters can't speak, so they use charades to get their point across.  The good furs, are very good at what they do.   If the character attendant isn't around, we get to be the voice for the fur. Then the face characters can speak for themselves, so they spend time actually talking to the guest and we just take pictures. 
I love character pictures because they are more candid, but I also enjoy icon shots because you get to actually talk to the guest and interact with them.
So that was my day.  I loved it!!!

Well I realize now...

.....how bad at this I truely am.  I have been so busy with work that by the time I get home and even think about writing in my blog, I am in bed asleep.  Then I wake up the next morning and go to work and do the same thing over again.
Things are still going great.  I love my role.  I am starting to really get to know some of the people I work with. Oh and most important, I am making friends.  There are some amazing people here, and they all seem to have the same passions for disney things as I do. 
I love being able to just go to the parks for an afternoon and just walking around.  Maybe go on a ride or two, but I am just enjoying taking it all in. Tomorrow I am probably going to one of the parks, because I get out of work so early.

Say Mickey!!!

I love my job. I just absolutely love it! I love that I get so much guest interaction.  I have met so many amazing people, including a family from the London area, and even some people from Arizona. 

The only down sides of my job: 
-I pretty much lose my voice by the end of each day. (Don't worry, it's worth it)
-The sun is intense here. (Sunscreen is my best friend)
-I am using muscles that I didn't know could hurt so much. (But it is still worth it)
-Everyday I really want to ride Soarin' because of the music they play in the entrance
So far, the downsides are still pretty positive. 

As much as I love my job, I am quite looking forward to having a few days off to go play.  I need to do some shopping, oh and laundry.  Those are high on my list. 
I hope everyone is enjoying these posts.  I know they are few and far between, and that I haven't made many videos, but I will get back to it.  I will go film on my next days off.

Day 3 of Training!

I am up early to catch a bus to Epcot.  Today is my first official day at Epcot and I am so excited!  I think we actually get to interact with guests today! So exciting!  I will tell you all about it when I get home tonight! 

Day 2 of Training complete!

For the past two days I have been at Animal Kingdom training to take pictures the way Disney wants us to take them.  It is very interesting the system we use.  It is custom to Disney, and we have all the rights and patents so that no one can copy us.  Go DISNEY for being awesome like that. 
I am going to keep this a bit short tonight because I am tired and I have day 3 of training tomorrow, but here is an overview of what we have done the past two days.
Day one we went over things like, What Photopass is, how it works and how our cameras work.  It was interesting to learn what setting we put our cameras on and how they want us to crop our pictures. 
Day 2 we went over more of the same information as yesterday-this was just to pound it into our heads so we know what we are talking about when we are interacting with our guests.  A lot of the service we provide is just to interact with the guests.  It is not all about getting them to get a picture taken from us.  I really like this because it is not like we are forcing our service down their throats.  The guests can choose whether or not they want to get their picture taken and if they wish to purchase our product.  We are not driven by commission!  Anyway, today we got to go out into Hollywood Studios and take test shots so we can see how we are doing and how our pictures can be improved.  It was a blast, except for the fact that I was told because I am tall, I may have some issues because there will be times  that my crop lines will be off because my height is above the guests. oops.  Guess I have to learn to bend my knees. :)
Off to bed I go.  I have another 9-6 day.  But on Saturday I have a half day, so Brittany and I are gonna go play in the afternoon.  I love it here!  Just in case you couldn't tell.

So tired...

I am absolutely exhausted! I have been in training all day and I just got home.  Training was a blast though.  Who would have thought that training for a new job could be so much fun.  I was in the entertainment group.  Unfortunately, that is about all I can really tell you about my training today.  I can tell you that we got to watch the castle show this afternoon and it did make me a bit teary eyed, but that's all I can tell you.  The rest is a Disney secret!

First few days... continued!

Okay, so after check-in day, we were exhausted. Thursday was a free day.  This was the last day that I would get to see mom, so we went shopping and went out to lunch together in Celebration.  After she stocked up my pantry, mom left.  I must admit, this was easier than I anticipated it would have been.  I didn't even cry!  I just knew that this is where I am supposed to be.  I could not be more happy with my choice of moving here.
After mom left, the roomies and I got ready to go to our Welcome Party!  It was pirate themed and was a lot of fun.  There was free food (always good) and music and dancing and of course... characters.  We met Pirate Mickey!  It was pretty amazing, if I do say so myself.

DAY 3:
Well on Friday Brittany, Sarah and I all had the early Traditions class.  Traditions is basically Disney Orientation. You learn a lot about Disney History and other things :) . The 3 of us had to be up at 5AM!!!  This was so we could catch the 6:45 bus to Traditions.  At Traditions you receive all the important things, like your name tag and your company id (this is what gets you into the parks for free!). So needless to say it was totally worth getting up at 5 am because after Traditions, Brittany, Sarah and I all came back to the apartment, changed and went to spend the rest of the afternoon at the Magic Kingdom!

DAY 4:
Yesterday I had the day off.  Two of my roomies started training so they were gone in the morning. May and I went to check out Mickey's Retreat.  For those of you who don't know, Mickey's Retreat is a cast area where they have a lake and pools and basketball courts and fun stuff for the cast members.  So we played in the sand for a bit. Then Brittany and Sarah came home.  They wanted to eat lunch and run some errands so May and I tagged along.  After our errands we came home and instead of going to Epcot we had dinner at home and watched the phineas and ferb musical episode!  

Disney is AMAZING!

For those of you who haven't heard yet... I am having the time of my life, and I have only been here 4 days!
I know I have tons to get you all caught up with, but this is the first time I have gotten the internet working in my apartment.  I am sitting here next to my roomie at the one and only desk in our apartment.  Brittany and I both have MAC computers and our internet was being weird, so we are now catching up with everything that has happened since we got here.
Check-in was great.  The day was kind of rainy, but it didn't end up raining until we got into the tents, so that worked out well.  We stood in a long line, for about an hour.  We had heard that they opened at 8am instead of 9am which is what all the papers said, so we got to Vista Way(where we had to check in) around 7am.  When the gate opened at 8am, we went back to the welcome center and started the process.  First, we had to fill out some paperwork, then we went to go get our apartment assignment.  I was the chosen one who got the important responsibility to choose our housing for us.  After all that happened, we got our keys and our id's to get into our complex, then got on a bus to go to casting.  At the casting building, we turned in all of our paperwork like our I-9 and W-2's. We also found out our work location!  I am officially working at Epcot!!!! Then we got finger printed and did some other stuff. The last thing we did was got our schedules.  My schedule says that I report to a class called welcome to entertainment on monday. Somehow I got lucky and I have the whole weekend off. This whole process took us from 7am (when we started to line up) to about 11am (when we were done at casting).  Then my roomies and I all went to lunch at Chick-fil-a, and started to move into our apartment.  We had a little bit of time to move in before we had our housing meeting.  Our housing meeting took about 2 hours. By then we were exhausted so we went grocery shopping and had dinner, then we watched some tv and went to bed. 

That was day one!! haha

Hello From ORLANDO!!

I am here!!!!!
I found an apple store and I am abusing the free internet to write my blog.  Mom is off shopping at another store, and here I am, writing in this thing.
We made it safely, although Mom cried most of the way.  I on the other hand, lost it completely in Phoenix and kept it together for the whole trip here.
Mom and I just had dinner and now we are walking around the Florida Mall... or at least I think that is what it is called.  And after I leave here, we are going to Universal City Walk to walk around.
I am taking lots of video, but I can't upload it yet.  Just know that there will be videos coming your way soon!

OHHHH MYYYY GOSSHHHH!!!
I am leaving for Florida in exactly 9 hours!  I cannot believe it.  This is crazy.  I am all packed, and I am now trying to decide if sleep is in my future. 

It is a very weird feeling, you know the one you have knowing that you will not be coming home for 6 months.  I think it has really finally hit me.  But, I am thinking that once I am actually there and busy working and hanging out with all my new friends, I won't even think about how much I will miss my home.  But as I sit in my room and write this, it is really hitting me that I am moving away from home.  I am such a homebody, but I know that this adventure is just what I need at this point in my life.  I also know that I will not be alone because I know that Devon will be there with me every step of the way.  Even when he pushes me onto Rockin Roller Coaster (which he would!  That or Tower of Terror). 

Well I just yawned... So, I am thinking that means I should get ready for bed.  This may be my last post for a bit.  I will try and update when I can.  But my 30 day challenge may take longer than 30 days, because I forgot the fact that I will most likely not have an internet connection for a while.

Well, I am a complete failure.  I missed yesterdays question.  This is what always happens, I open my blog to answer the question and come up with a fantastic answer, but then I forget about it until maybe 11:30 pm.  And this time, I just completely forgot.  So, you get two answers today.

Day 7!

I have to be honest you guys.....
I am so very proud of myself.  I have been doing such a great job keeping up with this blog!  Well, at least the writing portion of it.  I promise, there will be a new video soon because....... I GOT A NEW VIDEO CAMERA!! From now on I will be shooting in HIGH DEFINITION!!! At least, when I make a new video it will be in HD.

Okay, I had a very hard time choosing which animal was my favorite for day 5.  At least I think I am on day 5.  Oops. :)
To be honest.  I couldn't even pick just one favorite. I had to pick a few favorite animals.

I picked Timon AND Pumba, and here are my reasons why:
1) They are good together. I feel like you really can't separate them because they are a duo.
2) All the good songs in the movie, they sing together. AKA: Hakuna Matata.
3) Lastly, they are awesome.  I mean what other duo would dress up in a hula skirt and coconut bra to distract hyenas?  NO ONE!! :D

First post of the new year!

HAPPY 2011 EVERYONE!

This is it guys. This is the year of Disney.  I am so excited.  I cannot wait to be in Florida and just having the time of my life.
Well, I don't have much to report today.  Maybe I should start making packing lists!  EEEKKK!!
